About The Project

The Idea

The idea to build an outlandish Mad Max style car came from another, more of an everyday type of project, the rebuilding of a 2001 Jaguar S-Type. The car needed a complete transmission and engine swap, so we imported a barely used S-Type from Switzerland in prime condition, then tore it down for the precious V8 and transmission that's hiding in it. And so we were left with a V8 and a transmission that needs patching up, and a body that has no Hungarian papers, therefore the best possible solution to make use of them seemed to be to build an all terrain zombie and bandit proof car that will last us even if civilization ends as we know it.

The Car

As you already know, the car itself is a 2001 Jaguar S-Type, anthracite black, 4.0L V8 engine delivering 281 HP in its original state. The chassis come from Switzerland, where it was used as a secondary car by a rich family, leaving the interior (and exterior) in great condition. As The Last V8 doesn't need fancy leather and wood inlay interiors, these parts will be removed, along with the doors and saved for another day. The rest of the chassis will be modified to accomodate the armour, the raised and stregthened undercarriage, the larger wheels, and the weapons and other tools of survival that will be fitted later on. The heart, the mighty V8 comes from another 2001 Jaguar S-Type along with the transmission. The engine is looking forward to a complete refurbishment to get it ready for a new supercharger that will squeeze out some more energy from it.

The Crew

The crew consists of 4 friends(Adam, Andrew, Bernát and Sándor), who share an interest in cars and post apocalyptic survival. We decided to put our heads together and make the craziest ride that we can come up with. Adam owns the cars, and also the garage we are going to build the car in, Andrew is an engineering student, while Bernát and Sándor will contribute with their extensive knowledge of AFVs, firearms and survival tactics.
